If a colleague brings in some photos of her kids and offers to show them to you, saying “fine, let’s just get this over with” is frowned upon no matter how much you insist that you did not say those words out loud but must have been just thinking them really hard and if she heard them she probably has some kind of superhuman power.
And then you still have to look at the photos.

You always have such great tips! That’s why I read you.
The best way to deal with it is to introduce the colleagues to the concept of “evil eye”.
As awesome as the post was, this comment is even awesomer!! LOL!!!

First looking at photos, and then come the Girl Scout cookie solicitations.
Modern day photo-etiquette…. I’ll never understand it…
This is great advice and pretty much what I utter to myself every time I open Instagram.
Noted.

She is obviously unaware that no one wants to see photos of children unless they are those children’s grandparents. And even then.

My PSA addition: ditto with children’s artwork.
I love you. I tend to just ignore everyone I work with so I’m not ever in that situation to begin with!

Indeed good advice; I wonder if this is also true when they are trying to sell you something.
Keep hoping my coworker who insists on showing me her vacation photos will somehow hear me thinking that same thing. Hasn’t worked yet, but perhaps I’m not projecting that thought sufficiently.

I’d never do that… But, if you go to my Facebook page!
Listen, next time? Keep quiet and just draw in some Hitler mustaches when she’s not looking. 🙂

I never show photos of my kids. And I expect others to do the same.

I have this friend who used to make me sit down and leaf through her gazillion photo albums. The tangible ones!!!!! In the second decade of the 21 century!!!! She probably instilled photophobia in me coz I avoid her like the plague.
Next time, ask her to send you the photos online and then send a reply telling her how wonderful all of them are! She would have no way of knowing that you didn’t even open the album!!
